Write Them a Poem
Poetry isn’t second nature for everyone. Although you may not have been reciting Shakespeare in the womb, there’s an inner poet in everyone. There is no right or wrong poem–-It’s about expressing yourself honestly and being authentic. To make someone happy, write a silly or heartfelt poem to someone who you know needs it. You could decide to email, handwrite, or SMS the poem.
If you want to put in extra effort, consider getting a personalized poem made. This is perfect if you don’t have time to find the right words and want a poem befitting of the person receiving it. If the gift is for an acquaintance you could get them a personalized quote instead. It’s a sweet gesture and a tangible gift that will likely evoke positive memories in years to come.
Uber Eats Them Lunch
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t appreciate a free meal––myself included. I love food, especially when I don’t have to pay for it. Surprise someone who has been working extra hard or is having a hard time lunch. IF you can’t surprise them ask them what they want to eat and have it ordered to their doorstep it’s a small gesture but one that can make someone feel extremely loved.
Another idea is to cook them lunch and drop it off as a packed lunch. Don’t forget to jot down a sweet note to make it all the more special.
Ask Them if They Need Help
How many times has someone randomly messaged you and asked if you need help with anything? The answer is probably not so often. This is why it’s something you should add to the list if your goal is to make someone happy.
Us humans are self-centered by nature, so sometimes we forget to stop and ask those around us if they need anything. It could be that they need you to lend a helping hand with a project or need you to take the kids for a day so they can sleep. Most people don’t find it easy to ask for help, so offering it out of the blue could be a way to give someone hope in the kindness of humanity.
Send an Inspirational Quote
Another way to make someone happy is to send them an inspirational quote. But to make it special, don’t just send any quote you find in your gallery--be intentional. Think about the person you’re sending the quote to and the kind of encouragement they need right now. If you know they’re struggling career wise, send them a quote about not giving up. If you know they're grieving the loss of a loved one, send them something about healing and love.
Pray With Them
If you’re spiritual, then you know there’s power in prayer. Even if you don’t pray in traditional ways, you can still connect with someone and summon a higher being in a way you feel comfortable. For instance, if you believe more in meditation, why not set aside time to meditate together? Other things you could do include yoga, exercise, or affirmations. It’s a way of conjuring up good energy and wishing someone well.
Show Some PDA
These days, most people are on social media. This makes it great place to show someone special to you how much you care. Dedicate a post to them highlighting their admirable attributes and telling them how incredible they are, If that doesn’t make someone happy today, I'm not sure what will.
